Safety is important – we must all play our part

Statewide Concrete Service QLD Pty Ltd are committed to preventing injury and illness in the workplace. We endorse and abide by the current Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, Regulation, Codes of Practice and AS/NZS 4801 requirements on all our work sites, ensuring zero risk to employees,
contractors and visitors.

Statewide Concrete Service QLD Pty Ltd recognises that health and safety issues may affect people in the workforce in different ways because of the work they perform and work site locations. Our policies are reviewed frequently to maintain best practices and uphold our safety records.

Manager’s/Supervisor’s responsibilities
Statewide Concrete Service QLD Pty Ltd Managers and Supervisors are trained in all aspects of occupational health and safety, accident and disease prevention, and are accountable for working conditions under their control.

Managers and Supervisors are required to develop and implement health and safety programs. Their responsibilities include:

  • Planning activities to include the provision of the health and safety of staff and visitors.
  • Providing employees with appropriate health and safety information, instruction, training and supervision.
  • Where possible, identify, control and/or eliminate hazards in the workplace.
  • Reporting and investigating all workplace injuries, plant and equipment losses.
  • Providing support and allocating appropriate resources to comply with all relevant legislation and meet obligations.

Mechanisms for implementing, evaluating and improving health and safety within our organisation are regarded as a normal part of performance assessment and the role of Managers and Supervisors. Safety at work is also a shared responsibility and we support initiatives to promote employee involvement and consultation. We encourage joint management, employee representation, workplace groups or committees, and believe these committees have an important role in monitoring health and safety in the workplace.

Employees responsibility
All employees are responsible for their own safety and that of their co-workers. The success of health and safety programs ultimately rests on the willingness of everyone to co-operate and work collectively with a ‘Team Spirit’.

Visitors and contractors
Statewide Concrete Service QLD Pty Ltd.’s commitment to safety extends to visitors and contractors who may be exposed to risks through our operations. Statewide Concrete Service QLD Pty Ltd will inform all contractors and visitors about safe working conditions within the areas that they work.

Statewide Concrete Service QLD Pty Ltd is committed to the development, implementation, execution and maintenance of environmental procedures and construction methods that address, comply with, and meet the objectives of the relevant statutory obligations, community environmental standards and expectations and specific project requirements.

Environmental objectives are achieved through the recognition and encouragement of a genuine respect for the environment and its protection. Monitoring of performance will be undertaken on an ongoing basis.

Statewide Concrete Service QLD Pty Ltd is committed to the production of suitable project specific environmental plans and the appointment of suitable personnel responsible for the monitoring and adjustment of environmental controls.

Environmental safeguards are established for each project and maintained through the identification of environmental concerns and sensitivities, fostering environmental awareness and the development of an ongoing commitment from our employees.
